Thiruvananthapuram: Prominent Congress leader from the capital city, Thampanoor Satheesh, has also left the party. He arrived at the BJP’s election committee office to join the BJP. Another Congress leader, Padmini Thomas, also arrived at the BJP office. They were welcomed into the party by K. Surendran. The BJP leadership had yesterday made it clear that a section of Congress leaders would leave the party and join them.
Thampanoor Satheesh, who was the former general secretary of Thiruvananthapuram DCC, had resigned from all party positions on the previous day. He had made it clear that he was resigning from the party and would not join either the CPM or the BJP. However, it was only when he arrived at the election committee office with K. Surendran this morning that it became clear that he was joining the BJP.
Padmini Thomas arrived at the BJP’s election committee office along with Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the BJP candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency.
