Kochi: A complete closure has been announced in Lakshadweep. The decision comes in the wake of the spread of the Covid virus. A complete shutdown was announced in Lakshadweep for a week. The district collector issued an order declaring a complete closure on five islands.
Officers are allowed to enter the workplace using the Covid Negative Certificate and ID card.
Curfew was imposed in the Kavaratti, Minicoy, Kalpaini, and Amani islands following the escalation of the Covid outbreak. A complete shutdown has been announced for these islands until June 7.
The closure was reportedly announced amid heightened protests against the administrator’s reform measures.
