Thiruvananthapuram: Isolated heavy rain is likely in the state today. Yellow alert has been declared in 11 districts today. Vigilance has been issued in districts other than Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta. The cyclonic vortex over north Tamil Nadu, south Karnataka and north Kerala has entered the southeast Arabian Sea.
Meanwhile, the Central Meteorological Department has issued a warning saying that people should not go fishing in the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts. The warning stated that there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather along the Kerala-Karnataka coasts with a speed of 40 to 45 km per hour and on some occasions up to 55 km per hour.
