Thiruvananhapuram: The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Center has warned that there is a possibility of high waves and sea storms on the Kerala coast till 11:30 tonight. The State Disaster Management Authority has stated that fishermen and coastal residents should be cautious.
As rough seas are likely to intensify, people should stay away from the danger areas as per the instructions of the authorities. Keep fishing vessels safely moored in the harbour. Keeping a safe distance between boats can avoid the risk of collision. Safety of fishing vessels and equipment should be ensured. The Disaster Management Authority has also informed that trips to the beach and recreation in the sea should be completely avoided.
The warning is that a high wave of 1.0 to 1.5 meters is possible. At the same time, officials of the weather department informed that there is no hindrance to fishing in Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts.
