Thiruvananthapuram: Polling in five constituencies in by-elections in the state began today. Meanwhile, there is widespread rainfall in the state. Heavy rains are experienced in all the four constituencies except Manjeswaram. After the early hour, the booths were nowhere to be seen. Booths have been replaced at six in Ernakulam. Water went up in polling stations in Ernakulam. The flood was formed on major lanes and lowlands. The power outage at the booths is also becoming a crisis. Thiruvananthapuram and Vattiyurkavu and Ernakulam receive rainfall. The Met Department has issued an orange alert for Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam districts on Monday. Despite heavy rains, polling began at the Aroor constituency in a timely manner. Voting has begun slowly.
