Thiruvananthapuram: Cyclone Burevi, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, is expected to make landfall in southern Kerala this afternoon. With this, the Central Meteorological Department has withdrawn the red and orange alerts issued in Kerala. However, a yellow alert has been issued in 10 districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Malappuram. The Met Office has warned of strong winds and rains of up to 40 kmph in the southern districts. Public holidays have been declared in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Idukki districts.According to the meteorological department, the train will reach Kerala in the evening from Thoothukudi in Tamil Nadu through the border areas of Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts. The wind blows through southern Kerala and enters the Arabian Sea. When it reaches the state, the maximum speed is less than 40 km per hour. At the same time, going to sea is completely forbidden. Despite the hurricane’s concerns, the state is making all preparations without giving up vigilance.
