Thiruvananthapuram: The house of Bineesh Kodiyeri, the accused in the financial deal in the Bangalore drug case, is being raided in Thiruvananthapuram. The ED is accompanied by the Karnataka Police and the CRPF. The eight-member team of the ED had reached Thiruvananthapuram yesterday.
Enforcement team officials and Income Tax officials are staying in Thiruvananthapuram as part of intensifying the investigation in the case against Bineesh Kodiyeri. The purpose of the investigation team is to gather direct evidence regarding Bineesh’s Benami transactions and asset information. There is a move to question Abdul Latif, who is believed to be Bineesh’s benefactor, and to inspect his institutions. The ED concluded that Bineesh had invested heavily in various companies with Abdul Latif.
The ED has found that more than Rs 5 crore was handed over to Anoop Mohammad, the accused in the drug case, between 2012 and 2019. As part of this, centers related to Bineesh are being brought under investigation.
