Alappuzha: The district collector has permitted to open the beaches and parks in Alappuzha district with restrictions from October 4 as part of the phased reopening of the tourist area which was closed due to the lockdown.
Following are the guidelines issued by the District Disaster Management Authority for operating beaches and parks in compliance with covid prevention standards.
People with covid symptoms or other ailments should not enter beaches and parks.
Visitors should wear the mask properly and ensure social distance and use of sanitizer.
Local body secretaries should take steps to make periodic mic announcements to remind the public of covid prevention guidelines.
Beaches, rest areas, restrooms, shops, etc. should be disinfected at regular intervals and waste bins and sanitizers should be ensured.
The port, DTPC and local self-governing bodies should take action by October 3 to ensure electricity, lighting, water availability and covid Prevention Awareness Boards on the beaches.
Violators of the covid guidelines will be prosecuted under the Disaster Management Act, the Infectious Diseases Control Act and the Indian Penal Code.
The district police chief, district medical officer, local government heads, revenue authorities, tourism deputy, DTPC secretary and port officer were tasked to ensure compliance with the guidelines on the operation of beaches and parks and to take action against violators.
