Thiruvananthapuram: The CBI has taken crucial evidence in the death of violinist Balabhaskar. The CBI took evidence from Kalabhavan Sobhi and the KSRTC driver who had given statements in the incident. Kalabhavan Sobi said that a prominent figure in the art world was involved in Balabhask’s death.
On September 25, 2018, Balabhaskar’s vehicle was involved in an accident at Pallippuram. The case was referred to the CBI on the ground that it was a natural accident and later a mystery. Based on the statement given to the CBI, that Balabhaskar’s death was a murder, Kalabhavan Sobi cam to the scene of the accident and gave evidence, report said. The evidence was first taken to the pump where Sobi was resting. The investigation team collected information from the staff here. Sobi was then taken to the Mangalore police station and evidence was taken in Bala Bhaskar’s vehicle. Kalabhavan Sobi said that he was adamant that a prominent figure in the art world was involved in Balabhask’s death.
The investigation team also examined the car in the context of the statement that it had seen the car being smashed before the accident. KSRTC driver Aji, who witnessed the accident, was also brought to give evidence. Policemen from Mangalore station, who were on duty on the day of the incident, were also rushed to the spot.
CBI Thiruvananthapuram unit led by SP Nandakumaran Nair and DySP Ananthakrishnan took evidence.
