Kozhikode: Suspension for 5 people who tried to influence the young victim of sexual assault in Kozhikode Medical College. One was fired. After coming to the notice of the incident, Health Minister Veena George instructed the Director of the Medical Education Department to investigate and take strict action. The action was taken following the Minister’s instructions.
Disciplinary action has been taken against grade 1 attackers Asya and Shiny Jose, grade 2 attackers Shaima and Shaluja, and nursing assistant Praseetha Manoli. The police have also registered a case against them. Deepa, a daily wage worker, was fired from her job.
A case has been registered against the employees under the non-bailable sections of influencing a witness and intimidation. The police registered the case after recording the detailed statement of the complainant.
