Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that arrangements have been made in medical colleges to provide specialist services to those coming from Ukraine. The treatment is coordinated in a way that solves the physical and mental problems of those who come from a war situation. She said a special team would be set up in all medical colleges for this purpose.
Control rooms at medical colleges have been warned to coordinate calls related to returnees from Ukraine. Anyone with any difficulty should contact this control room. Beds will be reserved for them in covid ICU, Non covid ICU, and Pay wards. The Triage Duty Medical Officer and the Casualty Duty Medical Officer will be alerted to deal with any emergency.
A special staff nurse will be assigned to assist. The ambulance will be arranged. Their health problems will be examined by the community medicine department. Counseling services will also be provided to those in need. Those in need of counseling can contact Directions 104 and 1056.
Arrangements have been made to monitor their health at four international airports and domestic airports in the state. Health desks have been set up at airports for this purpose.
