Kannur: On October 29, the court will pronounce its verdict on PP Divya’s anticipatory bail plea in connection with ADM Naveen Babu’s suicide. After the argument was over, the petition was moved for judgment. The petition is being heard by the Thalassery Principal Section Court. Divya approached the court in a case taken by the police on the charge of abetment of suicide.
Divya told the court that District Collector Arun K Vijayan had invited her to the farewell function and everything she had said was with good intentions. Divya also stated that she raised the matter in the public platform to give a message against corruption.
At the same time, the prosecution argued that Divya’s tone in the farewell meeting was clearly threatening and that Divya had said that she would meet within two days. The media was called and the video recorded was deliberate.
The Collector has stated that Divya was not invited to the event. According to the statement, Divya told the collector about the corruption that morning, but the collector asked him not to make it public. If there is a complaint, it can be given to the responsible person. The prosecution argued in the court that without doing so, Divya’s accusation of corruption in the public arena was deliberate.
