Thiruvananthapuram: Rape case accused Eldhose Kunnappilil MLA granted anticipatory bail with strict conditions. Thiruvananthapuram Additional Sessions Court granted anticipatory bail with 11 conditions.
The court granted anticipatory bail to Eldhose with the condition that, do not leave Kerala, must appear before the investigation team between 22nd of this month and 1st of next month, 5 lakh rupees bail or two sureties equivalent, must surrender mobile phone and passport to the court, must not threaten or influence the complainant, must not make provocative posts on social media, if information of social media accounts is required by the investigating officers should give and not engage in similar offences.
The police initially registered a case of assaulting the young woman. In the statement given by the woman, the rape department was also charged. After this, the hearing in the bail petition was completed.
After the trial in the bail petition was over, the police charged Eldhose with attempted murder. The police have informed the court that additional charges have been filed against Eldhose. The MLA is currently charged with assault, rape, attempted murder and insulting women.
