Koyilandy: Again a case of molestation has been filed against writer Civic Chandran. The Koilandi police, which had earlier registered a case for another attempted rape, also registered a new case.
In 2020, action was taken on the complaint that a young writer from Kozhikode. The court had blocked the arrest of Civic in the first registered case till today. Kozhikode District Court will consider the anticipatory bail application filed by Civic Chandran in this case today. The police say that Civic has left the state.
The woman, who is a writer, first came forward with a complaint against Civic Chandran. In the complaint, the woman says that the assault took place in April when they gathered for a book launch.
The young woman, who is also a poetess, revealed that she was a victim of sexual harassment in the ‘Nilanadattam’ WhatsApp group administered by Civic Chandran. The woman’s allegation was against Civic Chandran and VT Jayadevan.
The young woman says that the misfortunes she had to face from these two persons pushed her into trauma and the harsh experience from the people she trusted so much left her in a heavy shock. Civic Chandran has been charged with rape and insulting women.
The investigation team reached the house in Westhill, Kozhikode several times but could not find Civic Chandran. The investigation team informed that the phone has been switched off and the investigation is going on in the neighboring states.
