Pariyaram: The death of Anjushree Parvathy (19), a native of Kasaragod, is suspected to be suicide. The postmortem report says that rat poison had gone inside.
The preliminary post-mortem report said that the death was not due to food poisoning, but the cause of death was liver damage.
The report states that it is a symptom of rat poison in the form of a paste. In the investigation conducted by the police, they found information about Anjushree’s mobile phone search about rat poison and a suicide note. But this can be officially confirmed only after receiving the chemical test report.
Meanwhile, Anjushree’s family has demanded that the mystery of the death be removed. Karunakaran, the girl’s uncle, said that three people, including Anjushree, experienced physical difficulties after eating. The relatives also demanded that food poisoning or other causes of death be ascertained.
Anjushree, daughter of late A Kumaran Nair and K Ambika of Perumbala Benur Srinilayam, died at 5.15 am on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangalore. On December 31, after eating food ordered online from the hotel, the relatives filed a complaint with the police and then the hotel owner and two employees were taken into police custody. After realizing that the girl’s death was not due to food poisoning, they were released. The health department and the food safety department closed the hotel and seized the food items. Anjushree was a second-year undergraduate student at Govinda Pai Govt. College, Manjeswaram.
