Thodupuzha: An elderly man died in a wild elephant attack in Munnar. The deceased is K Palraj (74), a resident of Dobipalayam, Coimbatore. He had come to attend the wedding ceremony held in Munnar on Tuesday.
The elephant attack was at 9.30 pm on the way back from the estate canteen along with three others. Palraj was knocked down by the elephant and then kicked. Those who were with him ran away.
Later, the locals made a fuss and took the elephant into the forest. Forest department officials have reached the spot. Locals said that another elephant was seen along with Padayappa in Thenmala area. The conclusion is that the same elephant attacked.
