Kochi: The consideration of the anticipatory bail petition of director Aisha Sultana in the sedition case has been postponed. The case was adjourned to Thursday at the request of Aisha. The court has asked the police to file a report in the case.
Aisha argued that the sedition case would not stand legally and therefore she should be granted anticipatory bail. While considering the petition, the petitioner herself asked that the case be shifted to Thursday. Aisha told the court that the Kavaratti police had issued a notice to her asking her to appear in person on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the BJP island president has also approached the court seeking to join the party in the case. The court will decide on the matter on Thursday.
Aisha had approached the high court against sedition charges for the remarks made during the channel discussion.
