Thiruvananthapuram: The government has announced an inquiry into the allegations raised against Keltron. Minister P Rajeev informed that the Principal Secretary of Industries has been appointed to investigate the high-profile controversy with Keltone regarding AI cameras. The minister also explained that he has been instructed to provide all the files to assist in the vigilance investigation of the complaint related to this.
Vigilance probe not against Keltron. Against the officer. One of the complaints against the officer was related to the AI camera. Subcontracting by Keltron is legal. Keltron had informed the government about the subcontracting. Everything related to the tender was done legally. The minister also explained that there is no need to inform the cabinet about awarding subcontracts. In the press conference, Minister Rajeev alleged that Oommen Chandy had spent 40 crores for installing 100 cameras. The minister explained that the government has nothing to hide and the tender documents of the project are in the public domain.
