New Delhi: The Supreme Court has allowed the trial court judge’s plea in the case of assault on the actress. The trial was adjourned for another six months. The case was heard by a bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilker.
Special Judge Honey M.Varghese, who is considering the case, asked for more time to complete the proceedings in the case and filed the petition in the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court had asked that the proceedings be completed in August 2021. But the trial court said in a letter that the proceedings were hampered by covid.
The application, citing the fact that the court had to close for weeks in May following the second wave of covid and the trial did not move as quickly as expected.There are more than 300 witnesses in the case. Dileep is the eighth accused in the case.
