Thiruvananthapuram: State government announced a complete lockdown in the state from 6 am on May 8 to May 16 in the wake of the second wave of covid. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister’s Office. A case will be registered to those people who go out unnecessarily.
A nine-day lockdown has been announced to control the spread of the disease. The number of Covid positives in the state had crossed 40,000 yesterday. Health experts had warned that Covid cases would remain high until mid-May.
The whole country went on lockdown last year in the wake of the Covid cases being reported. The lockdown announced in the state is expected to be almost the same.
