New Delhi: Jignesh Mewani has been arrested by the Assam Police. He was arrested from Palanpur in Gujarat around 11.30 pm on Wednesday. It is learned that Mewani, who was brought to Ahmedabad, will be shifted to Guwahati.
It is not clear which section has been charged against Jignesh. Police are not ready to release the FIR information. Jignesh Mewani is the MLA from the Wadgam constituency in Gujarat.
Sources close to Mewani said that the police had said that some cases had been registered against him in Assam and did not know the details.
