Riyadh: Five convicts sentenced to death for killing journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Three received 24 years in imprison. The Saudi court pronounced the sentence. In a statement, the public prosecutor said that the death penalty was for five people directly involved in the murder. On October 2, 2018, journalist Jamal Khashoggi, a fierce critic of the Saudi government, was killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, the Turkish capital. Washington Post columnist Khashoggi, a critic of the Saudi regime, was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Turkey on October 2, 2018.

Khashoggi was an adviser to the former regime in Saudi. After Prince Mohammed bin Salman was declared Crown Prince, he alienated himself from the government. In September 2017, she sought asylum in the United States following divisions. Eleven people were arrested in the incident. The official Saudi official confirmed that he was poisoned and killed and his body was cut to pieces outside the consulate.

It was handed over to a Turkish-based agent. The murder took place when he arrived at the Consulate to obtain the marriage document. Khashoggi arrived at the Saudi consulate in Turkey to invalidate his previous marriage and to correct his marriage documents with his Turkish girlfriend Hatis Sengis. Hatties, however, were not granted access to the consulate. No phone allowed. An inquiry into the incident began after Hathi’s filed a complaint with Khashiogi after missing 11 hours. At first inquiry, it was found to be a murder.
