Kolkatta: Two people, including a 17-year-old boy was killed in a massive clash at Bhatpara in West Bengal. Four people were injured. One of the victims was 17-year-old Rambabu Shah.
The attack was carried out by a group of unidentified groups in Bhatpara, a city near Kolkatta. It is reported that gunshots were heard from the scene. Police used tear gas to disperse the assailants. The attack took place just before the DGP inaugurated the new police station building at Bhatpara. The BJP has alleged that the TMC is behind the attack.
In the wake of the violence, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has called for an emergency meeting to discuss the issue and take action.
