Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, Covid vaccination will be given to people between the ages of 18 and 44 from today. Vaccination, which was scheduled to begin on May 1, was postponed due to a shortage of vaccines. Health Minister M Subramaniam has said that autorickshaw workers and construction workers are given priority in vaccinating.
Of the 78 lakh doses of Covid vaccines received by the Center in Tamil Nadu, 69 lakh doses have already been given. Vaccination for those over 45 years of age is still ongoing. At the same time, state health secretary Dr. J Radhakrishnan said he was not sure when the 1.5 crore dose of Covid vaccine required by Tamil Nadu would be received.
