Mumbai: Malayalee lawyer and environmental activist Nikita Jacob granted interim bail in the tool kit case. The Bombay High Court stayed the arrest for three weeks. Nikita should approach the Delhi High Court in the case during this period for anticipatory bail. The court also directed that Nikita be released on Rs 25,000 bail and equivalent bail.
At the same time, the court observed that Nikita Jacob had no religious, economic, or political agenda or intentions. An arrest warrant has been issued against Nikita by a Delhi court. The court rejected the Delhi Police’s contention that the Bombay court could not grant interim bail. The move comes in the wake of a tweet from environmental activist Greta Tunberg who shared a toolkit related to the farmers’ strike.
