New Delhi: The deadline for linking PAN cards with Aadhaar will end on March 31, 2021. The Income Tax Department warns that those who do not link will have to pay a fine of up to Rs.1000.

Earlier, the Center had warned several times to link Aadhaar and PAN card. IT return filers are also required to provide their Aadhaar number. Last year, the government had extended the connection between PAN Aadhaar from June 30, 2020, to March 31, 2021, for nine months.

In case of invalidation of the existing PAN card, payment of tax may be hampered. Failure to pay the tax on time will result in a hefty fine. Aadhaar and PAN cards can be linked through the website www.incomtaxindiafiling.gov.in. You can complete the process by clicking on the link Aadhaar on the website and entering the required information.
