New Delhi: Civil aviation watch DGCA has suggested various measures including mental health assessment of medical assessments and peer support programs to ensure the mental well-being of aircrew and air traffic controllers.
A senior DGCA official said on Wednesday that orders will be issued to the airlines and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to put in place the necessary provisions to implement the recommendations.
For this, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has constituted an expert committee.
The expert panel consists of experienced DGCA officials, air safety, clinical aerospace medicine, and mental health experts (psychologists).
DGCA officials informed that the circular will come into effect from May 31.
