New Delhi: It has been reported that the e-passport will soon be implemented in India in a way that is easy to handle, easy to renew, and accurate. Passport will be issued with security with biometric data. The assessment is that the new system will help facilitate emigration globally and make things easier to understand and pass unhindered.
Passport is currently issued in the country as a printed book. Official diplomatic passports with microchips were earlier issued to 20,000 people on a trial basis. At present, there are 36 Passport Offices, 93 Passport Service Centers, and 426 Post Office Passport Service Centers in India. The procedure for applying for a passport will continue as before.
