New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is hit again in the liquor scam case. The Supreme Court rejected Kejriwal’s request for an urgent hearing in the petition against the High Court verdict upholding the ED’s arrest. The case was adjourned for further consideration. The Rouse Avenue court rejected Kejriwal’s plea seeking permission to meet his lawyer for more days.
The High Court rejected the plea that the arrest in the liquor corruption case was illegal. The court dismissed the petition saying that there was evidence against Kejriwal and the arrest was legal. Kejriwal has to spend 4 more days in Tihar Jail after the Supreme Court rejected the petition. As Eid-ul-Fitr is on Thursday and Friday is a local holiday, the court will hear the petition only on Monday.
