New Delhi: The Supreme Court has directed the government to provide financial assistance to the families of those who died due to covid in the country. The court directed the Center to prepare a guideline within six months. The Center can decide on the amount. A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan passed the order.

The Center was of the view that it was not in a position to provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased. But the Supreme Court rejected these arguments. It is also suggested that the guidelines for death certificates be simplified.
