Thiruvananthapuram: Strong winds and bad weather are likely in the state. From today till February 4, due to the influence of low pressure, very strong winds and bad weather are expected over the coastal areas of Kanyakumari, Gulf of Mannar, Tamil Nadu coast and Southwest Bay of Bengal. There is a warning that, should not go fishing here under any circumstances.
The Central Meteorological Department has warned that the influence of the extreme-low pressure formed in the south-west Bay of Bengal will reach the Kanyakumari coast. District Collector Jeromick George said that no one should go fishing from the Kerala coast until the Central Meteorological Department’s warning changes.
According to the Central Meteorological Department, those who went fishing from the Kerala coast should turn back today and return to the safe coast due to strong winds. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in the state under the influence of low pressure.
The Central Meteorological Department has issued a warning for strong winds that may blow up to 45 km per hour and on some occasions up to 55 km.
