At least 102 people, including women and three children, were reportedly killed in a stampede during a religious prayer meeting in Uttar Pradesh’s Hatras. There was a stampede during the ‘Satsanga’ (prayer meeting). The footage of the incident has already surfaced. The injured were admitted to hospitals, the Chief Medical Officer of Ita, Dr. Umesh Kumar Tripathi informed.
The initial conclusion is that there was a stampede when the crowd started to disperse during the prayer ceremony. The committee has been formed under the leadership of Additional Director General of Police (Agra) and Aligarh Commissioner to probe the matter.
