Srinagar: An army soldier was killed in an encounter with militants in Anantnag, Jammu, and Kashmir. Two militants were killed. Security forces are on the lookout for more militants hiding in the area. Pakistani sources said the attack was carried out by Jaish-E Mohammed militants.

An army major is killed and two soldiers are wounded in a confrontation in a remote village in Anantnag on Monday. Major Ketan Sharma, a native of Meerut, was killed. A militant was killed in the firing by security forces.

Nine soldiers were injured when a suicide bomber attacked a military vehicle in Pulwama last night. There are warnings that there will be a strong terrorist attack in the region.
