Thiruvananthapuram: The CBI has taken over the solar case which has created a lot of turmoil in Kerala politics. As part of this, the CBI team filed an FIR in the CJM courts in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. The case is being investigated by the CBI Thiruvananthapuram unit.
The FIR was filed against former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Congress leaders K.C. Venugopal, Adoor Prakash, A.P. Anil Kumar, Hibi Eden, BJP National Vice President AP Abdullakutty.
The complainant had alleged sexual harassment and financial exploitation. The case was first investigated by the Crime Branch. However, the complainant submitted a letter to the Chief Minister stating that she was not satisfied with the crime branch investigation. Based on this letter, the government has decided to leave the case to the CBI.
The crime branch which investigated the case had given a clean chit to Oommen Chandy in the incident. It is reported that Oommen Chandy was not at Cliff House on the day the complainant said that the incident took place. The complainant also did not reach Cliff House. Police officers and personal staff on duty were questioned in this regard. Seven years later, the telephone records have not been received. According to the crime branch report, the statements of the complainant’s drivers were also recorded.
Meanwhile, the report given to the Central Home Department pointed out that the Crime Branch will continue to investigate the case of K.C. Venugopal, Adoorprakash, Hibi Eden, A.P. Anil Kumar, A.P. Abdullah Kutty.
