Chennai: Six people have been arrested in connection with the killing of two Dalit youths in connection with a caste clash. Police have intensified their probe into the incident in the Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu. Surendran, S. Karthik, p. Sakthia, R. Ajith, R. Madhavan, V. Nandakumar was arrested.
The clash took place at Arakonam Guruvarajanpeta on Wednesday night. The deceased have been identified as Sembet Surya (26) and Sokanoor Arjunan (25) of Gautam Nagar. Madan, Vallarasu, and Soundara Rajan who were with them also got injured.
The incident took place after the assembly elections. Arjuna and Surya were actively working for Gautam Sanna.
At the bus stop, the Dalit-Vanniyar’s clashes and aggressions culminated in the murder. More police have been deployed in and around Ranipet following the clashes.
