New Delhi: Security forces instructed to shoot down drones. The security forces have been instructed to shoot down drones flying over airports, important centers, and security forces camps with rubber bullets.
A BSF spokesman said a special pump Action Gun had been provided to the Force for this purpose. Drones flying at altitudes of 60 to 100 meters can be fired with rubber bullets. The BSF has started setting up surveillance posts attached to light guns capable of firing high-flying drones on the western border of Pakistan.
The Union Ministry of Civil Aviation had issued strict restrictions on drone flying. The ministry has issued a notification restricting the use, sale, and purchase of drones.
Under the new law, drones will need a special number and registration. The central government has imposed stricter controls on the rising tide of terrorist activities using drones.
