Chennai: NIA raid in Tamil Nadu. The inspection is being conducted at 24 places across the state. The raid is going on including at the house of SDPI Tamil Nadu unit president. The raid is being conducted in the districts of Usilampetti, Thanjavur, Tiruchi and Tirunelveli. The NIA has not disclosed any reason behind the raid.
The investigation is related to the Ramalinga murder case. PMK leader Ramalingam was killed in 2019. Stopping the forced conversion efforts had infuriated the SDPI and Popular Front terrorists. Ramalinga was then hacked to death in front of his son. The murder took place near Kumbakonam. NIA has taken over the investigation of the case.
