Sriharikota: PSLV-c49 carrying the Earth observation satellite EOS-1 and nine foreign satellites was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota despite adverse weather conditions.
The launch was delayed by 10 minutes due to heavy rain and thunderstorms. The countdown was stopped for five minutes. The Earth observation satellite can be used in agriculture, disaster management and forest conservation.
It is also known as Resat-2BR2. ISRO has launched nine foreign satellites under an agreement with the Department of Space and New Space India Limited. This is the first launch by ISRO during the Cvid epidemic. Visitors were banned due to fear of the corona.
