Srinagar: Order to close 300 schools run by Jamaat-e-Islami in Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir government has accused the government of aiding terrorism and separatism. The Falahi Am Trust, an affiliate of the banned Jamaat – e – Islami, has revoked the licenses of 300 educational institutions.
The order is to suspend academic activities and close within 15 days. Students in these schools will be given admission in government schools. According to the Education Department, the probe has revealed that Jamaat – e – Islami schools were involved in ongoing terrorist activities in Kashmir. The Falahi Am Trust, an affiliate of Islami, was registered in 1972. The FAT continued to operate even after the Jamaat-e-Islami was banned in February 2019.
Police have arrested hundreds of workers and supporters who were led by terrorism and separatism in connection with the organization. The decision to close schools is part of an anti-terrorism operation. There is a huge protest in the valley against the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir Education Department.
