New Delhi: Omicron has been confirmed again in India. The 72-year-old, who was returning from Zimbabwe to Jamnagar, Gujarat, was diagnosed with Omicron, a variant of Covid. He is currently being treated at Gigi Hospital. With this, the number of Omicron cases in the country is three.
The three, who are of Indian descent, had returned to Jamnagar from Zimbabwe last week. The test report of the other two is yet to be received. Jamnagar Municipal Commissioner Vijay Kharadi said the samples had been sent for testing.
Omicron was confirmed by a South African citizen and a doctor in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The 72-year-old was confirmed by covid on Thursday. The sample was then sent for genetic sequencing.
