New Delhi: The Center has made it mandatory to book in advance at six airports in India for RTPCR check-ups in the wake of the widening of covid variant Omicron.
This condition applies to people from countries that have been placed in the high-risk category following the Omicron expansion. Pre-booking facility for the test will be set up on the Air Suvidha Portal. It will be effective from Monday.
Currently, passengers arriving at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad airports need to book in advance.
It will be extended to other airports in the country if passengers are convinced that there are no barriers. Normally the RTPCR test rate is Rs.500. Results are available within eight hours.
