New Delhi: The Supreme Court has issued notice to the Central and state governments and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on a petition filed by Unitac MD Santosh Eepan against the CBI probe into the Life Mission case. The court has also sent a notice to Anil Akkara MLA.
Earlier, the state government had also approached the Supreme Court against the High Court order for a CBI probe. The Supreme Court has decided to consider the petition of Santosh Eepan along with this petition. The state government had approached the court against the CBI probe and informed the apex court that the central agencies were violating the limits in the name of the probe. The government claimed that Life Mission was implementing a scheme to provide housing to the poor. However, the CBI replied that the vigilance probe was evidence of irregularities in the scheme.
