In Delhi, rackets of buying and selling newborn babies are active. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raids in Delhi and Haryana in connection with child trafficking. Following investigation, CBI rescued three newborn babies from a house in Kesavapuram. The CBI has arrested seven people, including women and hospital staff, in the incident.
The CBI conducted the raid after receiving a tip-off about the sale of babies. 5.5 lakh and other documents were recovered during the investigation. After buying babies from parents and surrogate mothers, they were selling them for Rs 4 to 6 lakh. The CBI said in a press release that the accused were also involved in duping childless couples by creating fake documents related to adoption.
