Mumbai: The Central Election Commission has recognized the Eknath Shinde faction as the original Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena’s election symbol, arrow, and bow has been allotted to the Eknath Shinde faction.
The Election Commission’s decision is a heavy blow to Uddhav Thackeray’s faction. With this, the Shinde faction can use bow and arrow in the Maharashtra by-elections. The Election Commission has also observed that the amendments made by the Shiv Sena party in 2018 have not been submitted to them. Therefore, the Election Commission has said that the current constitution of Shiv Sena is not valid.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s reaction to the Election Commission’s decision is a victory for Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology. Uddhav Thackeray has not yet responded to the issue.
