Mumbai: RPF constable Chetan Singh, accused in the Mumbai-Jaipur Central Express train massacre, has also been charged with promoting enmity on grounds of religion as well. As per the request of the Railway Police, the custody of the accused was extended till August 11. Earlier, a case was registered against him under the charge of murder and under various sections of the Arms Act.
The carnage that shocked the country took place in the early hours of July 31. After killing Assistant Sub-Inspector Tikaram Meena, the accused went to the next coaches and selected the Muslim passengers and opened fire.
Asghar Abbas Ali, Abdul Qader Muhammad Hussain and Syed Saifuddin were killed.
