Mumbai: A way to reach Mangaluru by train in 12 hours from Mumbai is becoming clear. The Railways is planning to combine the Mangaluru-Goa and Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat train services and run them from Mumbai to Mangaluru.
Currently, the Mangaluru-Goa route is one of the Vande Bharats with less passengers. The Railways had planned to extend this train, which has less than 40 percent passengers, to Kozhikode, but due to opposition, it did not happen. This train reaches Goa from Mangaluru in about four and a half hours.
The Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat train also has less passengers. In this situation, the Railways has decided to combine these two services and run them from Mumbai to Mangaluru. With this, the passenger capacity is expected to increase to 100 percent.
Vande Bharat departs from Mumbai for Goa at 5.25 am. It will reach Goa at 1.10 pm. The move is to reach Mangaluru by 6 pm
All the trains running from Mumbai to Mangaluru and Kerala have 100 percent passenger capacity. Therefore, it is expected that the Mumbai-Mangalore Vande Bharat will also get passengers. It was expected when Vande Bharat was announced that the Mumbai-Goa route would become a popular route. There is also concern about how many people will be willing to pay the high ticket price.
