Lucknow: Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav passed away. His son and SP president Akhilesh Yadav informed about the death through Twitter. He was being treated in the emergency department of Vedanta Hospital in Gurugram for the past few days due to his deteriorating health condition.
He was a socialist leader who worked to implement the concept of social justice among the backward classes, who made national politics and Uttar Pradesh dynamic for decades, and waged revolutionary struggles against Hinduism.
In 1980, he became the President of the Lok Dal Party. Later this party became part of Janata Dal. With the split of the Lok Dal, Mulayam came to the fore with the Krantikari Morcha party. He became the Chief Minister of UP for the first time in 1989. Samajwadi Party was formed in 1992. He is known as the giant of Indian politics.
