The third Modi government was sworn in and assumed power. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Narendra Modi in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. After Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda and others were also sworn in. Reports say that the third Modi government has a 72-member cabinet.
The swearing-in ceremony of the third NDA government also saw a high foreign representation. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Maldives President Mohammad Muisu, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnath, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal have also been invited. Around 2500 police and paramilitary units have been deployed near the venue. In Delhi, there will be restrictions on airspace from 3 pm to 11 pm. Around a thousand people like religious priests, lawyers, doctors, artists, cultural workers and beneficiaries of central government schemes came to witness the oath-taking ceremony.
