New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Kartarpur corridor between India and Pakistan at Gurdaspur today. After partition, the region was included in Pakistan.
This is a pilgrimage for the Sikhs and has been fulfilling the demand for years. The first Indian delegation will cross the corridor and proceed to Kartarpur. Pakistan has said it will not collect first day fees from pilgrims from India.
India and Pakistan have agreed to permit 5000 pilgrims every day. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and Sunny Deol MP will be part of the team.
