Srinagar: The second phase of voting for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections has started. The fate of 239 candidates in 26 constituencies is being determined. Tight security has been put in place for the polls to be held in three districts each in Jammu and Kashmir.
There are a total 3502 polling stations. Former chief minister Omar Abdullah, JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Kara and BJP state president Ravinder Raina are the prominent people who are seeking popular vote today. Polling is from 7 am to 6 pm.
In the first phase, polling was held for 24 constituencies on the 18th. Polling will be held in the remaining 40 constituencies in the third phase on October 1.
